Strategy of intervention
BiBo is an an emotional and social skills mindfulness based school programme with a mission to support the development of positive mental habits for young teens (and the program can be adapted for older age groups). BiBo is the first Irish developed life skills programme combining evidence based applied positive psychology and innovative and effective teaching methods to support students. It is designed to fit into schools timetable.
The programme aims to equip young teens with core life skills to manage themselves and to help others cope with adversity in life. The emphasis lies on creatively helping students to understand the value of emotional self-regulation, finding one’s own strengths, developing compassion, encouraging optimism, safety, creativity and courage for the future. Students completing the BiBo programme are provided with knowledge, skills and attitudes to become “Positivity Ambassadors” and to inspire the necessary changes for a more inclusive society as future compassionate leaders.
