Walking 900km for Mental Health Awareness

This is Maysen. She is 25, from Canada and is walking 900km along The Ireland Way in aid of Mental Health Ireland.

She is half way though her six week trek with three more weeks to go. You can follow her on her blog Into the Wildish and on Twitter

She is an inspiration – walking alone and pitching a tent most nights along the way. She has been blown away by peoples generosity offering her hot meals, a bed for the night and donating money to her cause.

Maysen has anxiety and depression and is dealing with good and bad days along the way. She is learning when she needs to stop and when she has the strength to keep going and is learning a great deal about herself and her mental health in the process.

For Mental Health Week she has posted this amazing video for us and her followers.

Please support Maysen in any way you can, be it joining her for part of her walk, giving her a bed for the night or a hot meal or by donating to her fundraising page.

She will be passing through Galway, Roscommon, Leitrim, Sligo and Cavan over the coming weeks….. go meet her – she’s awesome!!
