Greetings! Today I want to talk about ‘The Now’
‘The now’ is important to me because I find it a safe place between the regrets of the past and the fear of the future, which most people have. Another word for living in ‘the now’ is mindfulness.
Whenever I find myself becoming preoccupied and lose touch with ‘the now’ I try to become aware of my breathing my body posture, and whatever is going on around me. It is also important for me to really focus on what I’m doing and listen when people talk to me.
I’m including these three quotes about ‘the now’ that I like –
One is God talking to us
When you look for me in the past I am not there. My name is not “I was”
When you look for me in the future I am not there. My name is not “I will be”
When you look for me in the present I am there. My name is “I am”
Louise Hay in her book “You Can Heal Your Life” says that
The point of power is in the present moment.
And Ashleigh Brilliant, in the loftily-titles book of wise sayings “A Guide for the Advanced Soul” says
At any moment I could start to be a better person – but which moment should I choose?
Til next time
