Mental Health Ireland, with Get Ireland Walking and Coillte, wishes to recruit a National Woodlands and Nature Project Lead to coordinate, develop, deliver and expand the Woodlands For Health and Nature Programme at local and national levels. This position will be responsible for coproducing new and existing projects, ensuring the sustainability of this position and programme and promoting a culture of nature-based well-being in Ireland.

The National Woodlands and Nature Project Lead will work as part of Mental Health Ireland’s Mental Health Promotion Team and will work closely with the wider Mental Health Ireland Team, Woodlands for Health and Nature Programme National Steering Group and relevant partners associations across the country. They must have the necessary experience and capacity for self-direction and lone working.

The successful candidate will have a passion for mental health and nature, experience in coordination and innovation, skills in project initiation, development, implementation, evaluation and research, knowledge of mental health promotion, population health and well-being, and the relationship between nature and mental health and well-being. They will be able to translate best practice and new emerging evidence into robust initiatives that can be mobilised and accessed by people throughout Ireland.
