Compassionate support for parenting anxious children and teens with Dr Malie Coyne.

Mental Health Ireland, together with the Galway Mental Health Association invited Dr Malie Coyne to speak to over 400 parents this month in relation to supportive parenting for children and teens with mental health challenges. 

Dr. Malie Coyne is a Clinical Psychologist and Adjunct Psychology Lecturer at the National University of Ireland Galway who sits on the Mental Health Advisory Panel for the A Lust for Life charity.

Malie released her bestselling book “Love in, Love out: A compassionate approach to parenting your anxious child” with Harper Collins Ireland in July 2020.

With her considerable experience of working with children and families, Malie is fast becoming one of the leading voices in compassionate parenting in Ireland. Through her advocacy work, public speaking and print, radio, and television contributions, Malie shines a light on mental health issues and promotes wellbeing throughout the lifespan.

Attendees were engrossed by Dr Malies delivery, knowledge and understanding in the area of parenting children and teens with various mental health challenges such as anxiety, panic attacks, confidence issues and challenges brought on or worsened by the pandemic.
